Animal Portraits
What excites me in doing an animal portrait is capturing the unique personality of my subject. I begin my process with meeting with you and your pet so I can learn more about what you are looking for in the portrait, get to know your pet and take a wide range of photographs which I use as references during the painting process. If you are commissioning a portrait and live a good distance away, give me a call and we can discuss the portrait and what I will need in order to paint your animal without a meeting.
Once my design and the initial stages of my painting are in process, I like to get my clients input to ensure your vision is matching mine. Before I finish the painting I ask you to come to my studio and view the painting to see if you would like any changes made to the portrait. If you are out of town, I will email you a photograph to see if you would like any changes before I finish the painting.
My process in creating a painting usually takes between four to six weeks depending on my work load. Please keep this in mind if your commission is for a special occasion.
